Tombola Of Fun

Show 4: 17/02/2009

Happy New Year gang! We’re back! In a New Year, and with a New Dimension!

It’s Tombola of Fun 4-D: Time on Tuesday (not Wednesday) 17th December 2008 at 8pm (Doors 7:30pm) Back at The Star public house in Archway/Tufnell Park/Dartmouth Park or whatever you choose to call the area in which it takes place. That’s right this month’s vague theme is Time and to celebrate it, since our last show we’ve moved forward in time one year into the futuristic year of 2009, and then went back in time by one day from Wednesdays to Tuesdays. If you’re not a scientist and/or a robot that means that Tombola of Fun will now take place on the third Tuesday (rather than Wednesday, which it used to be) of (maybe) every month. Hope that’s clear? As usual we’ve got a selection of some of the finest comics around including:

Brian Gittins

Brian comes from Pyecombe, near Brighton and runs a roadside cafe. In 2005 he turned to stand-up comedy after some of his customers described him as being “quite funny”. Since then he’s gone on to bigger and better things and has just finished supporting Ricky Gervais during a four night run in London. He’s also recently performed his first hour long show Brian Gittins – Roadside Café Owner at the Hen and Chickens.

Sara Pascoe

Sara is a comic actor, sketch performer, writer, director, improvisor as well as a stand up. As a straight stand up she’s won the Electric Mouse New Act of the Year Competition, and came second and third respectively in both the Funny Women and So You Think You’re Funny? competitions both in 2008. Sara has performed two solo stand up shows; Stand-Up-Lady and Christmas Stand-Up-Lady. She has appeared on TV playing various comic roles on Pete’s PA and has made TV pilots for MTV and Graham Norton‘s production company. Her sitcom The Good Guide is currently in the very early stages of production. She can also been seen in the upcoming Channel 4 comedy series Free Agents which begins on 13th February.

Hatty Ashdown

Hatty is a actress, singer, DJ and excellent comic. In 2006 she wrote and performed her own one woman show called Chickhabit. as well as making people laugh she’s also presented shows for Channel Four and BBC London, and co-presents comedy magazine The Fix‘s Podcasts.

All these fine comics, the game show “Better or Worse?” and much, much more that I’ve not thought of yet for just five Earth pounds.

Show starts at 8pm (Doors 7:30pm), but if you get there early you’ll be treated to a selection of my favourite Time-based and showbiz tunes.

Tally-ho,
Nat
