Tombola Of Fun

Show 1: 15/10/2008

Hello gang,

I’m a fair-to-middling stand-up called Nathaniel Metcalfe, and I’m here to introduce, and introduce to you, the first ever Tombola of Fun on Wednesday 15th October 2008 at 8:30pm (Doors 8pm) at the Star public house in Tufnell Park. This month’s theme will be James Bond and 60s spies, to mark the release of the new 007 movie, so please feel very free to come dressed appropriately, what with it being so close to Halloween and all.

Also: The debut of the soon-to-be massive new game show “Better or Worse?” as well as a fantastic selection of top turns including two of my very favourite comics.

Top of the bill this month is the wonderful Tony Law. If you don’t know Tony Law you really ought to. Tony Law is a Canadian comedian (or “Canedian”). He’s a favourite comic amongst all right thinking comedians, winning the Comedians Choice award at the Melbourne Comedy Festival in 2005. The last time I saw him I was crying actual tears (in a very good way). He’s performed all over the world and now he’s performing at Tombola of Fun! But seriously folks we’re incredibly lucky to have him. Be very excited!

Also this month Tom Bell. At around the time I first came across Tom Bell, I could often be found trotting out some of my tired old material at some comedy club or other, and trying to think of something new or different to say. Tom Bell’s act was a bit of a revelation to me, both hilariously funny, inspiring and borderline depressing, as I realised that he was doing the kind of stuff I would be doing if I was a better/funnier comedian. The happy ending is that I decided to do this and Tom Bell agreed to come along and do a set on the very first night. Appropriate.

And that’s not all! If we’re all very lucky we might also be treated to a very special secret guest appearance by one of the biggest stars of British TV comedy from the last 30 years (Warning: Not THE actual person!).

All this and much, much more that I’ve not thought of yet for just five Earth pounds.
Show starts at 8:30pm (Doors 8pm), but if you get there early you’ll be treated to a selection of my favourite spy related tunes.
Get happy!

Nat
